Danzan Ryu Founder, Professor Okazaki held a “special black belt class” for his instructors in 1948. He intended to conduct this training session periodically to refresh his Danzan Ryu instructors.
In 1993, Profs. Sig Kufferath and Tony Janovich repeated this class for a modern group of instructors. After the passing of Prof. Kufferath in 1999, Prof. Janovich continued the tradition to have this class presented every ten years. Classes were held in 2003 and 2013.
